Family Guy TV Series

Family Guy is an animated television sitcom that tells the story of Peter Griffin and his dysfunctional family. The show is the creation of Seth MacFarlane, and goes on air weekly. This half-hour cartoon is known for taking many topics lightly and nothing is sacred for the show. Anything goes for the show, which is the same formula used as well on The Simpsons and South Park. The series is set in Quahog in Rhode Island and chronicles not only the life of Peter Griffin but his family as well.
Peter is painted in the show as an impulsive father working at the local toy factory and he is credited for turning dysfunctional parenthood into an art form; there is the wife Lois as the frustrated social climber; another character in the show is that of the 16-year old daughter named Meg; the 13 year old Chris and there is the little Stewie. Stewie is a one year infant yet has an erudite vocabulary that can put other older kids to shame. Other member of the Griffin household is the martini-drinking dog Brian. Playing supporting roles to the dysfunctional Griffin family are their neighbors like Glen Quagmire. Family Guy is known to make use of cutaway gags, and the show is also known for using the jokes in the form of tangential vignettes.
The show was cancelled in 2000 and in 2002, but the performance of its DVDs prompted Fox to resume the animated TV show. Family Guy is known as the only one that has been twice resurrected on air thanks to the performance of its DVD sales. And since its return from the first and the second cancellation, a number of one-time characters from old episodes re-appeared with the focus still on the daily lives of the Griffin family. A feature film is in the pipeline, and according to Seth MacFarlane this can happen within the next year (2010).
It makes me laugh how the Dad takes the mickey out of his daughter!
